Management :
IWM
is governed by a Board of Trustees
with top level representatives from national authorities and organisations
: Ministry of Water Resources; Ministry of Planning; Ministry of Finance;
Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB); Water Resources Planning
Organisation (WARPO); Bangladesh
University of Engineering and Technology (BUET); Roads and Highways
Department, Local Government Engineering Department, NGO, Institute of
Engineers Bangladesh, Private Commercial Bank; DHI Water & Environment
and IWM itself.
The
daily management is the responsibility of the Executive Director, assisted by
Deputy Executive Directors and division heads. IWM
has divisions for Water Resources Planning, Irrigation Management, Flood
Management, River Engineering, Coastal, Port & Estuary Management and
Survey & Data. |

Operation
:
The
technical basis for IWM's operation is the qualification of its staff
members, theoretical skills as well as practical experience ;a set of
advanced tools for field investigations and studies, such as survey
instruments, numerical hydraulic models, and computer facilities; and its
corporate experience, developed during related projects in the past, and
comprising data, established models, and other knowledge that can facilitate
a highly qualified and efficient production of services.
The
financial basis for IWM's operations is earnings generated by its
consultancy activities. The net earnings are used for financial
consolidation and for funding or co-funding of research and development
programmes and staff training programmes. |
