PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The project site is situated in the northern part of the Melacca Strait (Bay) located near the northwest corner of Langkawi Island in Malaysia. The project involves the coastal reclamation and development of Boutique Island of 428 acres of land off Padang Lalang, Mukim of Ayer Hangat in the Langkawi island of Kedah state in Malaysia. Hydraulic studies need to be carried out for various types of development projects in the coastal zone in order to assess their potential impacts to the environment and to formulate mitigate measures to overcome the impacts. IWM has been entrusted by MAB Environmental Consultants SDN BHD, Malaysia, to carry out the Hydraulic Modelling Study to support the detail Environmental Impact Assessment study for the proposed boutique Island reclamation near Langkawi Island.
