PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The Mongla Port is an important seaport of Bangladesh. The Jetty Channel in front of the port is facing serious problem due to siltation. The Basic Dredging Co. Ltd. has been entrusted to carry out the dredging works in front of the area. Hydrographic survey at the pre and post dredge situation is essential to calculate the volume of dredging. The survey was also useful to guide the dredger for maintaining proper alignment of the dredging channel. In this connection the Basic Dredging approached IWM to carryout the hydrographic survey. The work was so useful that without this it might not even be possible to accomplish a successful dredging within the stipulated time and resources.

The output are include the following:

• Bathymetric Chart for pre and post dredge survey
• On line help to keep the dredger in proper alignment

Equipment used : RTK GPS, Echosounder
