A barrage has been constructed on the Sarawak river at Kuching Port in Malaysia, to maintain high water level (even during the low tide) in Kuching city. For the operation of the barrage, forecasts are required of the water level variations at the barrage site and some locations upstream. SWMC, under a sub-contract with Danish Hydraulic Institute of Denmark, assisted in the flood forecasting project in Malaysia through calibration of NAM and MIKE11 FF model..
