Mr. Akbor graduated in Civil Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology, Bangladesh in 1999, and obtained M.Sc. in Civil Engineering Degree from Tennessee Technological University, USA in 2010 with specialization in the application of remotely sensed hydrological data in transboundary issues.

Mr. Akbor has a professional career of about 12 years in the field of Water Resources Planning and Management. His professional career began at Institute of Water Modelling in January 2000. He has wide experience in development of hydrodynamic model using MIKE 11 & HEC-RAS, water supply distribution model using MIKE URBAN & Water CAD, hydrographic & topographic survey using satellite based equipments, and GIS activities through application of ArcView & ArcGIS.

Mr. Akbor received specialized training in MIKE11, MIKE URBAN, MIKE21FM, satellite based survey technique, and GIS software. He is a member of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh.
