Mr. Siddiqui graduated in Civil Engineering in 1986 from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Later he completed his Masters in Water Resources Engineering also from BUET in 1993 as a part-time student while working at IWM.

| Professional Track Record |
Mr. Siddiqui began his career at IWM while it was a project funded by UNDP under Master Plan Organization in July 1986. He has been working for more than 26 years at Institute of Water Modelling (IWM). From 1986-1992, he was involved in development of SERM, NWRM & NCRM models. From 1993-96 he worked in institutionalization process of IWM as Assistant Project Coordinator in management and policy issues. From 1997-2000 he worked as Business Coordinator in addition to his duties as a Modeller. He carried out number of projects as Project Leader such as Resource Assessment and Monitoring of Water Supply Source for Dhaka City, Mathematical Modelling Study and Detailed Feasibility of Sagarkhali-Borobeela Drainage Project, Pro-Poor Intervention Strategy for Irrigated Asia: Bangladesh Component Study, Modelling Study for Feasibility Study of Chandpur-Comilla Integrated FCDI Project etc.
He also carried out R&D Project as Project Leader of Arsenic Management Model, a Pilot Project of IWM, and Project Supervisor for Causes of Flood 2000 in SW Region of Bangladesh. He has also been Modeller for the USAID Country Study Program on Water Resources Vulnerability, Assessment and Adaptation to Climate Change & Mean Sea Level Rise. He has also been Project Supervisor for WatSan Sector Database development for NGO Forum for Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation (DWSS) and also Web Portal development for the WatSan Sector Database.
Mr. Siddiqui is a registered Professional Engineer (PEng.) with Bangladesh Professional Engineers Registration Board from 2003. He is a Life Fellow of Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB), a Life Fellow of Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS) and a Member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). From 1984 he has been a Member of Bangladesh Water Partnership (BWP) and contributed as Country Focal Point for Bangladesh in Tool Box Development, Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP-SA). He has been also been a member of Water & Power Engineers’ Association.

Mr. Siddiqui received specialized training in mathematical modelling on System-11 SIVA, MIKE11, MIKE21, MIKE Flood, FESWIMS, MODFLOW, and MIKE SHE from both home & abroad. He received Training of Trainers (ToT) course on Tool Box development in IWRM Practices from Global Water Partnership (GWP). Mr. Siddiqui also received training on Strategic Corporate & Marketing Planning from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).
Mr. Siddiqui has more than 15 publications both in domestic and international journals/seminars/conferences. He has also actively contributed in the publication of two international books. He is a widely traveled person and participated and presented papers in number of national and international seminars and conferences. He has conducted several training programs, seminars and workshops.
