1. Academic Chronology

Mr. Amit Hassan Shishir began his academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) in 2019. He subsequently completed dual Master’s degrees in Environmental Engineering and Engineering Management from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 2023.

2. Professional Track Record

Mr. Amit Hassan Shishir has been serving at the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) since 2024, bringing a strong technical foundation in sewer network modeling, urban sanitation, and integrated water management. Driven by a deep commitment to sustainable infrastructure development, he has gained substantial experience in the planning, design, and implementation of sanitation and wastewater management projects. His role has involved coordinating large-scale field surveys, developing sewer network models for previously unserved areas, and conducting institutional and policy analyses to ensure alignment with project objectives.

Prior to joining IWM, Mr. Shishir worked as Deputy Manager (Technical) at DevConsultants Limited, where he played a key role in technical and financial proposal preparation, bid strategy formulation, and the development of strategic partnerships with both national and international stakeholders. His responsibilities also included preparing engineering and technical documents, performing data analysis, and overseeing household surveys, faecal sludge management (FSM), and sanitation initiatives.

Earlier in his career, he served as a Junior Engineer at BETS Consulting Services Ltd., contributing to the structural design and construction supervision of major sewage treatment infrastructure projects. With over seven years of professional experience, Mr. Shishir has developed a well-rounded skill set encompassing technical expertise, financial and project management, field coordination, and business development, consistently delivering high-quality and reliable outcomes.
