Academic Chronology
Mr. Riyaf Ahmed completed his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) in June 2021. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Civil Engineering (Environment) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
Professional Track Record
He began his professional career as a Junior Engineer at the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) in November 2021. Since then, he has been involved in a broad spectrum of projects, including feasibility studies for water supply, flood management, urban drainage, and wastewater management schemes funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), World Bank, International Development Association (IDA), Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), UNICEF, and the Government of Bangladesh. His expertise extends to preparing and reviewing technical reports, supervising and monitoring project implementation, and ensuring quality control of design documents, AutoCAD drawings, and project databases, as well as preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and developing cost estimates to support tendering activities.
In addition, he has actively contributed to technical, feasibility, and master plan report preparation, project management, and stakeholder engagement, including conducting focus group discussions (FGDs) through participatory approaches. He is proficient in hydraulic and hydrodynamic modeling using Bentley SewerGEMS, WaterGEMS, MIKE+; GIS mapping and spatial analysis using ArcGIS and Google Earth; drafting and design using AutoCAD and Civil 3D; and using infraWizard for detecting utility conflicts, finalizing utilities layout, and generating design profiles.
