PROFILE DESCRIPTIONS
Academic Chronology
Mr. Sagar Chandra Roy earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in May 2022.
Professional Track Record
Since joining the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) as a Junior Engineer in July 2023, Mr. Roy has contributed to sustainable urban water supply and sanitation systems through hydraulic modelling and GIS-based analysis. For the Update of the Water Supply Master Plan for Dhaka City, he assisted in future water demand forecasting, groundwater quality analysis using geostatistical methods, and an existing situation analysis of DWASA resources, while developing forward-looking strategies for IoT-enabled smart water metering, renewable energy integration, and equitable supply for Low-Income Communities (LICs). Simultaneously, he supported the Update of the Sewerage Master Plan by performing sewerage network modelling for the Purachal catchment and designing Fecal Sludge Management and non-sewer zone strategies aligned with Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) principles. Beyond master planning, his practical expertise is evident in the Extended Dhaka Water Supply Resilience Project, where he utilized GIS tools to identify hard-to-reach areas, coordinated household surveys for demand analysis, and facilitated critical water supply connections.
Training / Membership / Workshop / Seminar
Mr. Roy has received several training courses, including:
- Hydrological Data Processing (February 2024, IWM, Dhaka)
