Academic Chronology
Asif Iqbal Arpon completed his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Gazipur, in 2022 and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Water Resources Engineering at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
Professional Track Record
Asif Iqbal Arpon started his professional career in 2024 as a Junior Engineer in the Survey & Data Division of the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM). His responsibilities include survey team management, field coordination, and preparation of survey layouts, maps, cross-sections, long profiles, and water level hydrographs. He is experienced in processing and analyzing bathymetric and topographic survey data using Total Station, Level Machine, RTK GPS, ADCP, and single-beam echo sounder with software such as Hydropro, HYPACK, ArcGIS, Excel, WinRiver II, and AutoCAD. He has strong expertise in grid and contour generation, feature mapping, earthwork and dredge volume computation, discharge analysis, and tidal and non-tidal water level assessment. Besides, he is experienced in the assessment of dredging requirements, dredging monitoring, dredge volume calculation, and preparation of comprehensive survey and technical reports, ensuring data quality through regular field supervision and accuracy verification.
