PROFILE DESCRIPTIONS
Academic Chronology
Mr. Md. Aliur Rahman completed his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Water Resources Engineering (WRE) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in October 2018. He later completed his Master of Science (M.Sc.) in WRE from BUET in May 2024.
Professional Track Record
Mr. Aliur began his professional career at the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) in September 2019. With over six years of professional experience, he has developed a strong expertise in computational hydraulics, hydrology, river morphology, and data processing. His work encompasses the development and application of hydrological and hydrodynamic models using MIKE 11, MIKE+, and MIKE Hydro, as well as the development of morphological models with MIKE 21C. He has actively contributed to the development of flood forecasting models through MIKE Operation and has been involved in the design of riverbank protection works, river dredging, and khal re-excavation etc. In addition to modeling and design, Mr. Aliur has significant experience in topographic and hydrographic surveying, data collection, monitoring, and analysis. He has also been involved in flood and site plan mapping, along with the preparation of detailed technical reports.
