1. Academic Chronology

Mr. Amit Hassan Shishir began his academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) in 2019. He subsequently completed dual Master’s degrees in Environmental Engineering and Engineering Management from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia, in 2023.

2. Professional Track Record

Mr. Amit Hassan Shishir has been serving at the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) since 2024, bringing with him a strong technical foundation in sewer network modeling, urban sanitation, and integrated water resources management. Driven by a deep commitment to sustainable infrastructure development, he has acquired substantial experience in the planning, design, and implementation of sanitation and wastewater management projects. His work at IWM includes coordinating large-scale field surveys, developing sewer network models for previously unserved urban areas, and conducting institutional and policy analyses to ensure effective alignment with project goals and regulatory frameworks.

Prior to joining IWM, Mr. Shishir served as Deputy Manager (Technical) at DevConsultants Limited, where he played a pivotal role in technical and financial proposal preparation, bid strategy development, and establishing strategic partnerships with national and international stakeholders. His responsibilities encompassed the preparation of engineering and technical documentation, advanced data analysis, and oversight of household surveys, faecal sludge management (FSM) programs, and sanitation initiatives, contributing to the successful delivery of multiple consultancy assignments.

Earlier in his career, he worked as a Junior Engineer at BETS Consulting Services Ltd., where he was actively involved in the structural design and construction supervision of major sewage treatment infrastructure projects.

With over seven years of progressive professional experience, Mr. Shishir has developed a well-rounded skill set that integrates technical expertise, project and financial management, field coordination, and business development. He is recognized for his ability to deliver high-quality, reliable, and sustainable solutions in complex urban water and sanitation projects.
