Academic Chronology

Mr. Simon graduated in Civil Engineering from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Dhaka, in 2021. He is currently pursuing his M.Sc. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

Professional Track Record

Mr. Simon began his career in 2021 as a Junior Engineer with the Survey & Data Division of the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM), where he gained over three years of experience in hydrographic and geospatial surveying, data processing, and environmental monitoring. His work spanned national infrastructure and environmental projects, including railway connectivity, coastal zone monitoring, and disaster risk management. He developed expertise in processing bathymetric, topographic, ADCP, TLS, UAV, sediment, and water quality data, while ensuring quality control through field monitoring and accuracy checks. Skilled in software such as Hypack, Pix4D, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Hydropro, 3D Survey, Atlascan, DJI Tera, and Civil 3D, Mr. Simon is also proficient in operating a wide range of hydrological and geospatial instruments, including ADCP, RTK GNSS, and total stations. In 2025, he joined the Coast, Port & Inland Waterways Management Division, where he is currently engaged in applying mathematical modelling techniques in the field of river hydro-morphology, river erosion and salinity intrusion.
