PROFILE DESCRIPTIONS
Academic Chronology:
Mr. Ridwan obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) on 25 March 2025. He joined the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) on 20 July 2025 and is currently serving as a Junior Engineer under the Water Supply, Sanitation and Urban Water Management Division (WSU). His academic background includes specialization in structural engineering with complementary exposure to transportation engineering. He has a professional interest in water supply, sanitation, drainage systems, environmental assessment, and sustainable urban infrastructure development.
Professional Track Record:
Since joining IWM, Mr. Ridwan has been involved in several water supply, sewerage, drainage, and environmental projects. He contributed to the project titled “Detailed Design, Drawings and BOQ Preparation of Water Supply, Drainage, Sewerage System, Gas Distribution, Electricity Supply and Roads for Trust Green City Area”, where he prepared AutoCAD-based final layout drawings for water supply, sewerage, and drainage networks and participated in the design of rain garden layouts as part of the sustainable drainage system.
He was engaged in the project “Updating of the Sewerage Master Plan for Dhaka City (2013)” for Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (DWASA). His responsibilities included conducting field surveys, collecting and processing sanitation-related data, surveying public toilets and slum sanitation facilities, and preparing technical documentation & Data Analysis to support urban sewerage planning.
Mr. Ridwan also contributed to the project “Feasibility Study of Legacy Pollutant Removal and Disposal from Buriganga River under the Preparatory Work for Metro Dhaka Water Security and Resilience Program”. His involvement included collecting river water samples, coordinating laboratory testing with BUET and BCSIR, conducting riverbed boring and soil sample collection, preparing bore logs and soil investigation reports, performing geospatial mapping and statistical analysis of pollutant data, and measuring industrial discharge flows during the winter season.
In addition, he worked on the Extended Dhaka Water Supply Resilience Project, where he prepared existing and proposed tubewell layout profiles for DMA zones using GIS tools.
He is also skilled in MS Office applications, AutoCAD, SAP2000, ETABS, SketchUp Pro, Revit, 3D rendering software Enscape 3D, Adobe Premiere Pro, MATLAB, micro-controller applications (Arduino), and programming languages including C, C++ and Python.
