Educational Qualifications

Mr. Arifin graduated in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka in September 2017.

Professional Track Record

Mr. Arifin began his career as a Junior Survey Engineer in the Survey and Data Division (SDT) at the Institute of Water Modelling in April 2019. He served as a Data Analyst in the same division for approximately two years before transferred to the River Morphology and Engineering Division (RME) in February 2021. As a Mathematical Modeler and Survey Data Analyst, he has played a supportive role in several hydro-morphological projects from inception to final reporting. His work has included analyzing discharge, water levels, sediment, and cross-section data, performing planform and statistical analyses, and developing 2D models using MIKE software. He has prepared model grids, bathymetry, and maps in ArcGIS. He also led survey teams for topographic and bathymetric data collection using advanced equipment, and processed data using tools like ATLAScan, HydroPro, ArcGIS, and NTFC software to ensure accurate model outputs.

Mr. Arifin has completed several professional training courses at the Institute of Water Modelling, including Morphological and Hydrological Data Collection, Storm Surge Modelling, and MIKE 21C. He also received training on Business Communication Skills with the British Council, as well as courses on ESIA for Young Professionals and Organizational Behavior. These trainings took place between 2019 and 2024.
