Academic Chronology

Mr. Mitra completed his graduation in Civil Engineering from KUET, Khulna in 2022. His major was in Geotechnical Engineering.  Currently he is pursuing his M.Sc. Degree in Climate Modeling & Risk Management from IWFM, BUET. 

Professional Track Record

Mr. Mitra started his professional career in 2024 as a Junior Engineer in the Survey & Data Division of the Institute of Water Modelling. His responsibilities involved, processing and analysis of ADCP discharge data, conducting discharge survey and sediment collection strategies; processing single beam bathymetric survey data and topographic survey data, including run line generation & creating cross-sections using them and superimposing cross-sections of various seasons to compare them, creating contour maps and survey maps; conducting multibeam bathymetric survey and processing multibeam bathymetric survey data; conducting LiDAR survey, photogrammetry and processing of LiDAR survey data; generation of orthophoto and feature map; conducting river bank line survey, char survey and processing survey data; conducting in-situ water quality parameters testing and comparing them with standards; field management, validation of survey data, preparation of final deliverables and report writing as per project requirements.

Mr. Mitra has received specialized training in Hydrographic & Topographic Survey and Processing  & Basics on Civil 3D at IWM

1. Integrated Hydro-Morphological Model Development and Monitoring Survey to Predict Morphological Changes in Padma River (Goalondo to Chandpur), Client: BWDB.

2. Hydrological Data Collection and River Cross Section Survey for Preparatory Survey for Southern Chattogram Region Water Supply Project, Client: Nippon Koei Bangladesh.

3. Consultant (PMC) Services for Expanded Dhaka Water Supply Resilience Project (EDWSRP), Client: DWASA.

4. Feasibility Study for the Development of Flood Control Embankment on the Left Bank of the Jamuna River in Jamalpur District, Client: BWDB.

5. Consulting Services for Matarbari Port Development Project (Basin Area Survey) in People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Client: Nippon Koei Bangladesh.

6. Consultancy Services for Monitoring of Hydraulic & Morphological Conditions of Padma River for the Safety of the River Training Works of Padma Bridge, Client: BBA.
