Academic Chronology

She completed her Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) during 2019–2023. She also completed her Higher Secondary Certificate from Dhaka City College, Dhaka during 2016–2018, and Secondary School Certificate from Mohammadpur Preparatory School and College, Dhaka during 2010–2016.

Professional Track Record

Arora Tasnim has built a professional background as a Civil and Environmental Engineer with hands-on experience in water resources, irrigation, hydrology, groundwater, environmental assessment and field-based project implementation in Bangladesh. She has been working as a Data Analyst at the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM), Dhaka since May 2025. Her professional responsibilities include organizing and supervising field visits, collecting primary information from communities using PRA techniques, generating datasets for assessment of local water resources conditions, and supporting GIS-based mapping and spatial data analysis for river, canal and command area features.

She has contributed to different water resources and irrigation-related projects, including hydrological investigation and modelling of surface water and groundwater resources in the North-Central Hydrological Region, assessment of irrigation efficiency in different Agro-Ecological Zones of Bangladesh, surface water-based irrigation development, conjunctive use of surface water and groundwater resources in the Barind Region, and integrated management of land and water resources in Arial Beel area. Her technical skills include field data collection, hydrological and irrigation data processing, GIS mapping, AutoCAD-based layout preparation, crop water requirement estimation, and preparation of technical maps, tables, figures, notes and reports.

Arora Tasnim has enhanced her professional knowledge through practical training, internship and participation in academic, environmental and cultural organizations. She also has experience in remote sensing-related organizational exposure and environmental project-oriented field activities.

Arora Tasnim has technical working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, AutoCAD 2D, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, CROPWAT, MIKE SHE and MIKE 11.
